We will use recycled materials and found, everyday objects to have creative fun, while encouraging our makers to think out-of-the-box. These everyday objects will be transformed into cardboard games, mixed media paintings, and more. Participants will be encouraged to ask, 'how do we see our own surroundings and unfamiliar spaces and transform them into a new dimension'? It will be a laid back environment to let kids make, design and figure out their own solutions and encourage problem solving.
The makers will work with Artist Mei Mei Chang, who will begin her art installation at Rhizome. The makers will also learn how an art installation works. All makers from age 7 to 12 are welcome to participate. During the August 1- 5 morning sessions, participants will have Mandarin and Chinese arts included.
Morning session: August 1 to 5, from 9:30am to 12:30pm (includes Mandarin & Chinese arts)
