In this two-hour workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of submitting short fiction for publication. Evangeline will discuss preparing your work for submission, resources to find markets, pay scales, cover letters, contracts, red flags, and more. Bring a laptop: during the second half of the workshop, you'll work on submitting your own stories. Writers of all experience levels are welcome to join. We want you here even if you’ve never attended a workshop before! 

Evangeline Giaconia is a DMV-based writer of queer speculative fiction. From science fiction to fantasy, her work explores themes of gender-expansiveness, sentience and sapience, decolonial futures, disability, and queering historical narratives. Evangeline's short fiction has appeared in Utopia Science Fiction, The Submission Pit, and Trans/Port: Trans Speculative Fiction for a Queer Future, among others. You can find her many places online @evgiaconia, but especially on Neocities. Organized by Lilac Peril, a DC-based small press publishing subversive trans writing.
