Queering Noize:
Depression Factory (Jeff Barsky & Markus Meier)
Jeff Barsky - Meditations. Dedicated to resistance.
Depression Cherry so far is a one-man project by Queer Germany-to-DC transplant Markus Meier that has lived its looping existence for several years in a small bedroom in the middle of Washington DC. A pre-pandemic QUEERING SOUND was the initial spark to take these sweet repeating lullabies out of the bedroom and onto the (small) stage and share them with you. I hope you enjoy my little melodic clouds that want to massage your soul and tell you that everything is fine (clearly a lie) and give you a break for a minute or two.

THAT CLOUD with Jan Swinburne (video)
THAT CLOUD was birthed out of a virtual-tour support request, a subsequent social-distance live performance, and recording purposes by JS ADAMS (BLK w/BEAR) and CHRISTOPHER MATHEWS-LARSEN (Youth in Government, Outboard, Grave Nature) as THAT and CHRIS VIDELL’s Tag Cloud project.
Jan Swinburne is a Canadian visual artist whose interdisciplinary practice makes use of traditional and digital media. Swinburne approaches all media from a painter’s sensibility and this drives her aesthetic. At times her work mutates into large-scale, site-sensitive installations and projects. An experimental approach to art is central to her practice. As a video artist, Swinburne’s interest is oriented to meta-exposure and the cultural and political implications of image degeneration. Swinburne's work manifests in the form of music/video-painting.
