Cooper Crain (Bitchin' Bajas, Separatist Party) and Bill MacKay (Black Duck, Ryley Walker, Nathan Bowles) are cementing their status as a guitar n' keys power duo for the ages, a borderless pursuit of cosmic music in every strain: Folk, rock and jazz, psych, prog, DIY, experimental, programmatic, impressionistic, liturgic, electric...! On their 2nd album STASH, released earlier this summer (2026) on Drag City, the duo rides additional waves from Arabian, Iberian, and soul music that groove in alliance under the expanse of an all-world flag. It reads like a lovingly sharpened and shimmering expansion of their explorations on debut LP Foreign Smokes (2023). BCMC is a new solar development.

Motherfuckers JMB & Co. came together two years ago with a desire to create long improvisational soundscapes akin to music by masters like Neu! and Xhol Caravan (from which they adapted their name). With Geologist (Brian Weitz) on hurdy gurdy, Marc Minsker on bass, guitar, harmonium, and Jim Thomson on percussion, this instrumental trio released their debut album, Music Excitement Action Beauty, last year.
