Chris Ryan Williams is an improviser, composer, and artist based in Brooklyn, NY. His work spans electroacoustic composition, improvisation, and performance installation, investigating resonance, memory, and the thresholds between interior and exterior sound. Williams’ debut album on AKP Recordings, Odu: Vibration II (2025), melds a trio of horns with glacial synthesizers in a meditation on resonance and interiority. Inspired by Apichatpong Weerasethakul’s cinema, the lineage of three-horn writing, and the vibrancy of cave spaces, the record unfolds like a descent into an imagined cavern. Featuring Patrick Shiroishi and Kalia Vandever, the music balances breath, dissonance, and sculpted electronics, offering both ecstatic grandeur and intimate reflection.
