Upbringing brings together thirty District, Maryland, and Virginia artists illuminating the intimacy, intensity, and complexities of the parent/child relationship. The artists represent a broad range of ages, (from high school sophomore to retired art professor) cultures, and career stages. Through a variety of media including painting, sculpture, photography, video, drawing and collage, the exhibition addresses emotional terrain on both sides of this unparalleled relationship.
