INTRO TO DJING
Welcome to an introductory lesson on how to DJ! We will touch on core principles, ranges of techniques, and a broad overview of a variety of setups to fit your style and budget.

A little about the workshop from Natalia from Haus of Jung:
Within the heavily male-dominated DJ industry, it can be very intimidating to take the first step toward exploring what goes on behind the decks.
.
My self-taught journey DJing electronic music provides me with an important perspective on the obstacles to overcome as a beginner.
.
Learn simple techniques and tricks I wished somebody had handed to me, such as a broad understanding of equipment, how to hook things up, attention to EQ / waves / timing / and structure for flawless mixing, DJing versus producing, and general myths about DJing are some areas of focus that will be cleared up and simplified to allow for a stress-free entry into the subject.
.
I will also get into how to get you started based on your budget and goals.
.
And time-permitting, those who wish to try out some basic mixing will be able to do so.
.
Super excited to host this workshop <3

CDJ WORKSHOP (230-430pm)
Come play with pro-level DJ equipment! No-pressure, no stress, just come to have fun.

Equipment includes two CDJs (900 Nexus, 1200 Nexus) and one pro-level mixer (DJM 750).

A small class (capped at 10, signed up now to reserve your spot) will be rotating for a back-to-back with each other. Meaning, bring your USB with music (ideally you’ve run it by Rekordbox, but a USB with your favorite tracks is just fine!). Plug it into one player and practice mixing in. Then onto the next person.

We will all watch and learn from each other. The instructor will give pointers, but this is an opportunity for YOU to have experience with generally inaccessible equipment and experiment with new approaches outside of a live gig! :)

All levels welcome. If you can, focus your tracks on ‘house music’ (bpm 110-130 is good, don’t stress out about this). Come for a fun Saturday afternoon, and play with other music lovers. A glass of wine is included for your afternoon.

Private Lesson available at 5pm as well.
