Aperture Duo: Selections from Moon Units (2020) by Pauline Kim Harris
A collection of 13 virtuosic miniatures for Violin and Viola, each unit is a magnified glimpse of a mercurial eco-soundscape -- each named after a full moon in a calendar cycle. Commissioned by Aperture Duo in 2019 and completed in April 2020, right after our world changed due to COVID-19, they decided to premiere the piece digitally as a year-long project -- releasing the piece unit by unit on the day of the corresponding full moon. These are the first five in the series. The premiere of the next video will be on December 29.

Rachel Devorah and Carl Testa
Composers Rachel Devorah and Carl Testa while physically distanced from each other simultaneously shape a live coded sonic structure of manipulated samples and synthesized textures using open source audio software SuperCollider via networked coding software Troop.

Dan Blake, Olivia Da Prato, & Josh Modney: The Dust Moves (violin duo)
This violin duo, played by Olivia Da Prato and Josh Modney, is drawn from Dan Blake's hour-long multi media work The Dust Moves (Infrequent Seams, 2016) written for the Mivos Quartet and live animations. In this movement, the violins - with their penchant for unison - are constantly approaching and repelling each other, a sonic "motion" represented visually by kaleidoscopic images ranging from granular noise to muted opaque colors.

James Ilgenfritz plays music by Anthony Braxton
Contrabassist James Ilgenfritz performs a selection of works by composer Anthony Braxton, drawing from his expansive repertoire of works for solo, quartet, and large ensemble settings, reconfigured in a fashion that references the composers Co-ordinate Musics, Language Musics, Ghost Trance Music, and Pulse Track systems.

Damon Holzborn & John O’Brien - Less Exquisite
Less Exquisite is a performance version of the shared synthesizer patch game Exquisite Coast, by Damon Holzborn and John O’Brien. The Exquisite series of works create processes for collaboration in a time when face-to-face rehearsal is not possible.

This world premiere film by acclaimed multi-media artist Quintan Ana Wikswo features music by Ty Citerman from the new album Bop Kabbalah+Voices: When You Speak of Times to Come (Ven Du Redst Fun Naye Tsaytn), just out on Infrequent Seams, with guests Sara Serpa and Judith Berkson. Staunch leftist texts from the 150 year-old Yiddish labor movement are given an unprecedented modern musical treatment: delicate, plaintive, hypnotic and passionate.
