Concert: Soakie, Gauche, Juice and Honey, Tag Cloud/Onewayness

Friday July 6th    8PM     $10 Soakie is hardcore for people who hate hardcore. If Britney Spears moved to New York and wore a punky dangler. Gauche   -  Taking elements of Young Marble Giants, ESG (who they have played with) and Grass Widow, the DC band inject an explosive energy into songs about fraught relationships, a dependency on technology and social media and unfair working conditions.    Juice and Honey is 100% organic noise pop run through a juicer with the dregs thrown out. Extra pulp, no added sugar. Featuring the rare fruit of members from Ursula, Louie Louie, The Cavemen and Dark Web Tag Cloud and Onewayness will play as a duo.   Onewayness is Adam Holquist, a composer, improviser, and multi-instrumentalist from Erie, Pennsylvania. He uses guitars, pianos, analog and digital synthesis, spoken word and field recordings, and a variety of hardware and software tools to create atmospheric and textural music which draws influence from a variety of sources. These may include: ambient, drone, minimalism, post-rock, and vintage and contemporary electronic 'listening music'. Tag Cloud is ambient/noise including kit built electronics, analog and semi-modular synths, cheap keyboards, acoustic drone instruments, and percussion. Influences range broadly from Krautrock, noise, and environmental acoustics to working within the experimental scene in Washington DC. Recent releases on Verses Records and Flag Day Recordings.
