Wednesday June 6th    8PM     $10 Suggested Donation       Martin Bisi   is a producer, musician, and central figure in the musical history of NYC for the past four decades. Martin Bisi and band are touring in support of BC35, an album marking the 35 year anniversary of his recording studio - BC Studio. Founding BC Studio in 1981 with the help of Brian Eno and Bill Laswell, Bisi has recorded landmark music there by Sonic Youth, Swans, John Zorn, Africa Bambaataa, Unsane, Cop Shoot Cop, Herbie Hancock's Rockit, Violent Femmes, JG Thirlwell, The Dresden Dolls and countless others. BC35 includes musicians from Swans, Sonic Youth,  Cop Shoot Cop, White Hills, Alice Donut, Live Skull, Pop1280, Insect Ark and was recorded live over a weekend in January 2016. His band covers post-rock/punk, Industrial and experimental territory. Jason A Mullinax is a percussionist, music educator, composer, videographer and instrument builder based in Takoma Park, MD. Over the past twenty years, Jason has performed extensively on the east coast and has recorded dozens of records as both a soloist and collaborator. His most notable past projects include the bands Mandible, Mosquito Death Squadron and Pilesar. His most recently release, Time Being, is a love letter to psychedelic world music from the 1970's, lo-fi electronica, jazz fusion and progressive rock. While his musical career has propelled him along many unexpected and exciting trajectories, his current inspiration is drawn from the works of Steve Reich, Terry Riley, Philip Glass, Kaitlyn Aurelia Smith, Susan Ciani and Manuel Göttsching. Using his “magic table” of toy synthesizers, percussion and effects, Jason weaves gentle electronic ambience with simple melodies and complex interlocking rhythms. The result is a playful and ever-shifting soundscape couched in both the free improv and minimalist music traditions. In addition to performing music, he also teaches private drum lessons and facilitates an experiential workshop called Music Discovery Lab that promotes an appreciation for the musical potential of all sound.       Kamyar Arsani is a multi-instrumentalist, singer and songwriter born and raised in Tehran, Iran. Kamyar's musical mission is to spread cultural awareness and unity by mixing contemporary musical trends with traditional Persian folk music. Ten years ago, Kamyar and his family migrated to the United States around the same time that Iran's Green Revolution was occurring. Kamyar's songs and performances are very much inspired by the people of Iran and their history of struggle and protest. He produced his first solo album in 2015, entitled "No Freedom." Kamyar also plays in two other collaborations: "Huda & Kamyar," a Daf and Oud Duo, and "Time is Fire," a weird world/post-punk band. Kamyar is now in process of producing his second solo album *Voices in the Dark* A Daf and Avaz (singing) album focusing on Sufi and Iranian traditional music repertoire.
