Feel the fervor of 1970s utopian activism! Action-packed, emotionally- charged. 25 young indy filmmakers, with the earliest video cameras, cover the country’s largest civil disobedience peace protests from inside. Authentic counter-program to Ken Burns’ “The Vietnam War” from the counter-culture that places the protest movement in its proper place of influence to end the war in Vietnam! Rated R: (Radical politics, Violence, Language).
This May also marks the 50th anniversary of the May 1968 protest and general strikes in France that nearly brought down the De Gaulle government. We will have a discussion after the screening of what links these two huge protest movements, and how they compare to demonstrations in the current political environment.
