Concert: Rodenticide, Flesh Narc, Golden Oriole, Sewelson/Stewart/Francis Trio

Saturday April 21st   8PM   $10 Rodenticide (NYC) - "like a cluster of talon-toothed insects looking to chew out your corpuscles, Rodenticide is nonpareil. Romanticize the excesses, avantisms and de-tuned combustion of the past all you want, I can't stop you, but there’s a perfect storm brewing here and now." — Tony Procaccino Flesh Narc (Denton, TX)- Late delirium jams molded, dyed, cut, scrambled, flipped, shot, dubbed into purposeful moving parts. Hesitant starts, mistakes, incidental sounds become hooks after endlessly looping arbitrary chunks of the raw material. Choices are made under the influence of dim, dark blue lighting and candy. After 40 minutes of electric overstimulation, the power is cut to give needed acoustic respite.-(Eyes on the Fabric liner notes) Golden Oriole (Norway)  is the new noise rock project of guitarist Kristoffer Riis and drummer Thore Warland from Staer , picking up where they left off with that band’s last release, the 2016 EP “Collapse of Ancient Funk.”Alchemical transformations of noise, prog, blues, ambient, jazz, and psych into pure Norwave gold. Sewelson/Stewart/Francis Trio - are Dave Sewelson (Baritone Sax), Luke Stewart (Bass), and Nik Francis (Percussion). Longtime fixture on the NY avant-jazz scene Dave Sewelson visits DC and joins up with Luke Stewart and Nik Francis..come dig the result.
