(multi)(animation) workshop for Kids w/ artist Paulina Velasquez Solis

Rhizome is pleased to offer (multi)(animation), a special 2-hour workshop with Baltimore-based visual artist Paulina Velasquez-Solis, as part of our ongoing Unthings kids' program. Unthings pairs children with local & visiting artists who provide materials, ideas, and guidance, while encouraging kids to develop and explore their own creative ideas and questions.

In this special session, Paulina will lead a collective creation session using the same software platform for live animation and sound performance seen in her multifungi project (currently on view at Rhizome). The session will start with some context of how she started the multifungi project, the concepts behind live animation, and how the tool works. Then, we will create new live sequences of collective visual narrative and assemble them into a collaborative animation during the workshop.

WHEN: SUNDAY MAY 21st, 11am-1PM
AGES: 8 and up
COST: $30 for the 2-hour session.
