Concert: Selector Dub Narcotic, Escape-ism, TK Echo

SELECTOR DUB NARCOTIC - Influential musician and producer Calvin Johnson is the founder of K, a record label and media outlet based in Olympia, WA which has provided an essential platform for countless Northwest artists including Mirah, The Blow, Built to Spill, and the Make-Up, and is best known as a member of the indie, twee giants Beat Happening.

Johnson has been working under the nom de plume Selector Dub Narcotic since founding the Dub Narcotic Studio in 1993.  His newest record "This Party Is Just Getting Started" is a collaboration with NW hip hop producer Smoke M2D6, who first began working with K producing the "All Your Friend’s Friends" compilation. As a member of the Oldominion crew Smoke M2D6 has produced almost every major hip hop artist in Washington and Oregon. The idea for this collaboration began with the song All for the Sake of Rhymin’ (which samples K artist Mahjongg) and snowballed into an entire album of dance pop garage soul with Calvin’s trademark melodica wafting overall.

ESCAPE-ISM - a found-sound-dream-drama starring Ian Svenonius

TK ECHO - A new D.C. band featuring Josh Blair (Orthrelm/Supersystem), Fiona Griffin (Et At It, Meltdown), Aaron Leitko (Protect-U) and Chris Richards (Q and Not U)
